One of the Pixel Watch 5’s quietly powerful features has landed on the Pixel Watch 4. The AI watch face generator that launched last year is currently rolling out to Pixel Watch 4 models.
The Pixel Watch 5 wasn’t a massive shakeup as much as another refinement. The Pixel Watch 4 brought arguably more to the table when it launched last year, but if the newest model did anything new, it was to add a few enhancements under the hood. The majority of which were focused on AI performance.
One good byproduct of that push is an AI watch face generator; it’s a tool that makes creating custom watch faces a little easier, especially if you’re the type to pick a different one for each day of the week.
According to a few users on Reddit, a recent Pixel Watch 4 update added the AI watch face generator to their device. It looks like the update is packaged in version 4.2.12.989940186 and includes Pixel Watch 5 stock watch faces – Weave, Modular, Reveal, and Chronograph – and even the specialized Steph Curry dial.
The custom face generator is straightforward. You can access the prompt section through the Pixel Watch app when you try to create a new look. Instead of picking from a template gallery, explain what you’re looking to generate, and Gemini Intelligence should come up with something close.
It has its limitations, of course, but it’s a great tool that Google didn’t really play up for the Pixel Watch 5. That made this Pixel Watch 4 update somewhat expected, but it’s a nice surprise nonetheless.
The Pixel Watch 4 update looks to be actively rolling out, so it might take some time for it to show up.
